Our
Lodge committees take nominations and selects the final receipients with
approval from Council and a National Review. The award was instituted
in 1981. Since that first year, Ta Tanka Lodge has found it a fitting recognition
for many distinguished receipients. It is presented to members who
have given outstanding service to the Lodge.
The Sachem
Award. At the first induction of Wimachtendienk, which was
the original name for the Order of the Arrow, "Sachem" was
Today, our Lodge uses Sachem as a form of recognition. Each year,
at the discretion of each Chapter and the Lodge, we have the option to
present a "Sachem" Award.<br>
This award is given to the adult that has made distinguished service,
leadership and unselfish interest to their individual Chapter
and Lodge program.
